Five practical uses for high strength cleaning vinegar

Everyday cleaning ideas, with a few important safety checks for accommodation properties.

TasteMaker Home high strength cleaning vinegar spray.

A useful bottle to keep in the cleaning cupboard, high strength vinegar can help with a range of everyday jobs around an accommodation property. This TasteMaker Home spray is labelled for general household use. TasteMaker vinegar is listed in 750 ml and 2 litre sizes at New World and PAK’nSAVE, although stock can vary by store. I’ve also seen cleaning vinegar at Bunnings, so it may be worth checking there too.

  1. Glass and mirrors: Dilute with water, spray lightly and wipe with a clean microfibre cloth.
  2. Shower screens: Try a diluted solution to help loosen light soap residue. Rinse and dry the glass afterwards.
  3. Washable rubbish bins: Wipe the inside with diluted vinegar, then rinse and let the bin dry before relining it.
  4. Laundry marks and odours: Test a little diluted vinegar on a hidden area first, then rinse or wash as usual. Avoid delicate fabrics such as silk and wool.
  5. Everyday wipe-downs: Use a diluted solution on suitable, washable surfaces, then wipe with clean water where needed.
