Sleepyhead Commercial - Helping New Zealand Guests Sleep Better
Commercial beds, trusted expertise and practical advice for accommodation operators
Sleepyhead Commercial provides commercial beds and mattresses for hotels, motels, holiday parks, serviced apartments, resorts and other accommodation businesses throughout New Zealand.
Sleepyhead has more than 90 years of mattress expertise and a strong commitment to New Zealand manufacturing. Sleepyhead Commercial has also supported guest bedding in New Zealand for more than 50 years, with commercial beds designed specifically for hospitality use.
For accommodation operators, a bed has to do more than create a comfortable first impression. It needs to deliver consistent guest comfort, commercial durability, reliable support and long-term value for the property.
Meet Damien Hegarty
Damien Hegarty will shortly join Bernard for two practical HospoGuy Chats focused on commercial beds, mattresses and the questions accommodation operators often ask before purchasing or replacing beds.
Damien's formal job title and exact length of service still need to be supplied or confirmed before those details are published.
Coming to HospoGuy Chats
Episode One: 35+ Years with Sleepyhead
A relaxed conversation with Damien about his career, how beds and guest expectations have changed, and the lessons he has learned while working with New Zealand accommodation businesses.
Episode Two: What Makes a Great Accommodation Bed?
Practical advice for motel, hotel, holiday park and serviced-apartment operators about comfort, mattress construction, durability, replacement cycles and what to consider before investing in new beds.

Pillows & Guest Comfort
A great review starts with a good night’s sleep
Too many properties, including some five-star hotels, buy the cheapest pillows. Your guests deserve comfort, support and a choice.

Consider a simple pillow menu: extra pillows in different sizes, thicknesses and firmness levels available through reception.
You don’t need dozens. A dozen spare pillows stored cleanly in your laundry room is a practical place to start. Let guests know they can ask reception for a pillow that suits them.
Don’t be tempted to buy the cheapest pillows just to get free chocolates. We can provide pillows your guests will like.
Contact Bernard to discuss pillow options and prices for your property.
Linen & Laundry
Towels That Can Seriously Cut Laundry Costs
These towels are the best! I’ve used them at several accommodation properties and have been genuinely impressed with how well they perform.

They are large, fluffy and comfortable for guests, but the real advantage for an operator is what happens behind the scenes in the laundry.
They dry up to 30% faster and are designed to last 2–3 times longer than traditional towels. That can mean shorter dryer cycles, greater laundry capacity, lower energy costs and fewer replacement towels over time.
They are also snag-free, hold their shape extremely well and don’t develop the bottle-neck or sagging appearance that some conventional towels do.
Currently available in white only.
Available products include Bath Sheets, Bath Towels, Hand Towels, Guest Towels, Face Cloths and Bath Mats.
Look at the savings you could make.
I’ve used these towels myself at several properties. If you’d like to know more, compare sizes or get pricing, contact me directly at HospoGuy.
